iOS 14 code confirms the release of four fourth-generation iPad Pro models
Rumoured to be arriving later this month, 9to5Mac has confirmed that Apple plans to release four fourth-generation iPad Pros. The website asserts that it has seen references to these models in leaked iOS 14 code, which has also been the source of recent iPhone SE 2 leaks.
Included as a footnote in an article about a larger variant of the iPhone SE 2, 9to5Mac states that the four fourth-generation iPad Pro models are the J417, J418, J420 and J421. While the leaked code apparently does not contain any other details about the upcoming tablets, 9to5Mac claims that these are likely LTE and Wi-Fi versions of 11-inch and 12.9-inch models.
There have been rumours about releasing two fourth-generation iPad Pros this quarter and two others towards the end of the year, though. Regardless, Apple is expected to upgrade the iPad Pro series to three rear-facing cameras this year. The unannounced A13X Bionic chipset will likely feature, although Apple may push the release of March-bound devices because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
