Xiaomi launches slim Intel-powered laptop lineup with 120Hz displays and 72Wh battery

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Book 2027 laptop lineup, and there are two models available at launch. The core difference between the two lies in the display size and screen specs, and all the other aspects are pretty much the same.
Specifically, there are 14-inch and 16-inch models, and among the two, the former is brighter and more pixel-dense. As Xiaomi highlights, the former has a "2.8K" panel with a brightness rating of 500 nits. For the latter, the resolution is "2.5K," and it has a 400-nit brightness rating.
Beyond these, the other specs are identical between the two Redmi Book 2027 laptop models. They are both powered by the Intel Core 5 320, a mid-range option from the Wildcat Lake series, and it's bundled with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM.
There's a dual-fan cooling setup, which should allow the processor to hold its ground well under heavy loads. The relatively slim and lightweight design is another notable aspect of the Redmi Book 2027 series. Xiaomi claims that the 14-inch laptop weighs 1.28kg (about 2.82lbs), and it's said to be as thin as 14.35mm.
As for the 16-inch laptop, it has the same marketed thickness, but is said to weigh 1.56kg (about 3.43lbs). While both models are slim, there's a decent selection of ports, which include two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, and one HDMI 2.1.
There's a 72Wh battery in both the Redmi Book 2027 laptops, and Xiaomi claims that the runtime can reach up to 20.2 hours on the 14-inch model. Other highlights include 68W fast charging support (Baseus AH22 100W charger curr. $41.79 on Amazon), a 120Hz refresh rate, and availability in four different colorways.
In China, the 14-inch Redmi Book 2027 starts at CNY 6,799, about $1,019, while the 16-inch has a starting price of CNY 6,999, about $1,049. Both of these base configurations come with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Xiaomi could launch this Wildcat Lake laptop lineup globally soon.
