Xiaomi 11T Pro review verdict: Everything you need, but still not enough?
After having already taken a look at the Xiaomi 11T sibling model equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 in October, we recently reviewed the Pro variant of the 11T series as well. The 11T Pro is very similar to its sibling, but it sports a flagship 2021 SoC, the Snapdragon 888, including an 8K video option. In addition, the 5,000 mAh battery of the Pro model can be charged very quickly at up to 120 watts. However, in contrast to what many other manufacturers are doing right now, Xiaomi is still including the appropriate accessories with the 11T Pro, so that the extremely fast charging times can be admired by all users out of the box.
With a recommended retail price of 699.90 Euros (~$787), the 256 GB version of the 11T Pro approaches the 700 Euro (~$787) mark this year. This means that the successor to the Mi 10T Pro is about 50 Euros (~$56) more expensive, but beyond the spec sheet, Xiaomi is pursuing a completely new strategy in comparison to last year's T smartphone generation. The Chinese manufacturer has promised long-term software updates for its premium phone for the first time.
Nevertheless, there are some compromises that have to be made with the 11T Pro, even in relation to the Xiaomi Mi 11, which has dropped considerably in price in the meantime. Although the Xiaomi 11T Pro is positioned in a higher price range, it lacks certain premium features, such as a waterproof case, wireless charging, a 1440p resolution, or an optically stabilized main camera. However, the extent to which Xiaomi's update promise will also apply to the Mi 11 series is unclear so far.
