XPPen launches Artist Pro 24 (Gen 2) drawing displays for artists, photographers, and graphic designers
XPPen has unveiled a new lineup of 24-inch drawing displays. The Artist Pro 24 (Gen2) 4K is optimized for artists, photographers, architects, 3D modelers, and graphic designers, and the Artist Pro 24 (Gen2) 165Hz is optimized for video editors and animators. Both are Calman Verified displays and compatible with popular color-calibration tools for high-color accuracy.
Decades ago, artists that needed to draw while using a computer used external drawing tablets with digital pens. Although these work well, there is an unnatural disconnect between the physical location of the pen on the tablet and the actual location of the cursor on the computer monitor. The XPPen display tablets combine a pen digitizer with a monitor, allowing artists to work directly on their art.
The LCD on the 4K model has a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 and has a typical brightness of 300 cd/㎡. The monitor has a wide color gamut that covers 99% of the sRGB, 99% of the Adobe RGB, and 98% of the Display P3 color spaces. The LCD has high color accuracy, with a Delta E < 1. The refresh rate is not stated.
The LCD on the 165 Hz model has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 and has a typical brightness of 250 cd/㎡. The monitor has a wide color gamut that covers 99% of the sRGB, 99% of the Adobe RGB, and 94% of the Display P3 color spaces. The LCD has high color accuracy, with a Delta E < 1. The refresh rate is 165 Hz.
The Artist Pro 24 (Gen2) series is compatible with the X3 Pro Smart Chip and X3 Pro Slim styli. The Smart Chip stylus has two buttons and an eraser in a fatter body, while the Slim stylus has only two buttons. Both styli are EMR-based, so they do not require batteries. The displays sense 16,384 levels of pen pressure across the digitizers. The pen digitizer has a resolution of 5,080 LPI and a pen tracking accuracy of +/- 0.4 mm.
Both models measure 638 x 408 x 44 mm (25.1 x 16.1 x 1.7 inches) and weigh 7.3 kg (16.1 pounds). They are compatible with Apple, Android, Chrome, Linux, and Windows hosts with USB-C, DisplayPort, and HDMI connectivity.
