Deal | XPG Xenia 15G gaming laptop with Intel i7-14700HX and RTX 4070 drops to $1,239
One of the lowest prices for an RTX 4070 gaming laptop is now offered by Walmart with the XPG Xenia 15G 2024 model that is now discounted down to $1,239. This is a more budget-oriented build, but, thankfully, it comes with a decent display, unlike most discounted gaming laptops. This deal qualifies for a free Assassin's Creed Shadows digital copy, as well.
Speaking of the display, it actually has not changed from the 2023 model, so it still features a 15.6-inch IPS panel with 144 Hz refresh, 1080p resolution, 300 nit brightness and 100% sRGB color gamut. Not exactly up to industry standards, but certainly better than the panels with 65% sRGB we usually find on budget builds.
While we have seen lower prices for laptops equipped with an RTX 4070, this is the first model to feature an i7-14700HX processor at this price point. Being an ADATA subsidiary, XPG naturally equipped the laptop with ADATA-branded 16 GB DDR5-5600 RAM and a 1 TB LEGEND 850 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.
The 2023 model was missing Thunderbolt 4 connectivity and the latest variant is no exception. However, port selection features varied connectors such as 2x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI 2.1 video out, audio combo and GbE jacks. Wireless Internet access is provided through a Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.2 card. There is even a 1080p webcam.
As far as minuses go, we could mention the rather small 53,35 Wh battery along with a thicker 24.9 mm profile, even though the 2.25 kg weight is in line with most 15.6-inch models we have seen. Silver lining here is that the cooling solution is more efficient and less noisy.
