The Samsung online store will begin accepting pre-orders for the rest of the month where users can get an $80 credit towards the purchase of Samsung accessories. After March 1, the credit will be reduced to just $30.

Announced at CES 2021, the Galaxy Chromebook 2 is now available for pre-order from February 16 through the 28 at Samsung.com and Best Buy stores. The New model is notable for its QLED display and very sleek metal chassis design in contrast to the cheap plastic Chromebooks that make up most of the Chrome OS market. Two colors will be made available at launch: Fiesta Red and mercury Gray.

After the initial pre-order period, units will begin shipping on March 1 for buyers everywhere in North America. As a further incentive for early adopters, users who purchase by March 14 from Samsung.com or Best Buy will also receive a $30 credit off their next purchase from that respective store.

A major difference between the 2021 Galaxy Chromebook 2 and 2020 Galaxy Chromebook is their 13.3-inch displays. The latest model is 1080p QLED while the older one is 4K AMOLED. Furthermore, the newer model also comes with slower CPUs (Core i3-10110U or Celeron 5025U vs. Core i5-10210U) and lower storage options (64 GB to 128 GB instead of 256 GB). The weaker specifications this time around may have been deliberate to bring down the starting price of the new model and attract more home users.
