Microsoft’s February 2026 Windows 11 updates (KB5077181 and KB5075941) add security patches, bug fixes, and new Secure Boot rollout signals ahead of certificate expirations starting in June 2026.

Microsoft has released its February 10, 2026, cumulative security updates for Windows 11. On Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2, the update is KB5077181, which bumps systems to OS Builds 26100.7840 (24H2) and 26200.7840 (25H2).

For Windows 11 23H2, Microsoft shipped KB5075941, raising the OS to Build 22631.6649.

Both updates include the month’s security patches and roll in “non-security updates” from the prior optional preview release, depending on your version track.

Secure Boot certificate expirations headline Microsoft’s release notes

In the release notes for both KBs, Microsoft also flags an upcoming Secure Boot maintenance deadline: Secure Boot certificates used by most Windows devices are set to expire starting in June 2026. Microsoft warns that devices may be affected “if not updated in time,” and points users and organizations to its Secure Boot preparation guidance.

On 24H2/25H2, Microsoft says it’s using this month’s servicing to extend its phased rollout strategy: Windows quality updates now carry targeting data that helps determine which devices are ready to receive new Secure Boot certificates, with certificates only pushed after “sufficient successful update signals.”

What Microsoft says is fixed in KB5077181 (24H2/25H2)

In KB5077181, Microsoft highlights fixes for a full-screen gaming eligibility issue and a bug that could block connections to some WPA3-Personal Wi-Fi networks after installing an earlier update.

Microsoft also lists updated AI components (Image Search, Content Extraction, Semantic Analysis, and a Settings Model), all shown at version 1.2601.1268.0 in the release notes.

At publishing time, Microsoft says it is not currently aware of any issues with KB5077181.

KB5075941 (23H2) pushes Boot Manager changes and fixes a shutdown/hibernation bug

For Windows 11 23H2, Microsoft highlights a Secure Boot/Boot Manager change: on devices that already have the Windows UEFI CA 2023 certificate in the Secure Boot signature database (DB), the update will replace the 2011-signed bootmgfw.efi with the 2023-signed version. Microsoft also cautions that resetting the DB or toggling Secure Boot can trigger a “Secure Boot violation” and notes recovery media as the remedy in rare cases.

KB5075941 also includes a fix for a widely discussed issue where some PCs running Virtual Secure Mode (VSM) could restart instead of shutting down or entering hibernation after security updates released on or after January 13, 2026.

As with the 24H2/25H2 package, Microsoft reports no known issues for KB5075941 at the time of publication.

Additional feature changes

BleepingComputer says the February 2026 Patch Tuesday release also carries feature-side updates (rolling out progressively), including expanded Cross-Device Resume, Windows MIDI Services improvements, more Narrator verbosity controls, and changes to Smart App Control behavior. (As with many Windows features, availability can vary by device, configuration, and rollout status.)
