We remarked in our review of the Acer Swift 16 AI Intel Evo notebook that the Core Ultra 7 256V configuration of the laptop is one of the cheapest 16-inch machines on the market. Normally priced at only $1,249.99 for a Core Ultra 7 256V APU, 16 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, and a 2.8K OLED panel at Best Buy, the Acer Swift 16 AI offers a lot of value thanks to its good performance, durable chassis, good battery life, and an amazing display.
Considering this, the latest Acer Swift 16 AI promotion at Best Buy has made the laptop a phenomenal value. The $450 discount has brought the laptop down to just $799.99. At this price, the Acer Swift 16 AI looks like a stellar multimedia option, no matter how you look at it.
In our review of the Acer Swift 16 AI with a Core Ultra 9 288V Lunar Lake CPU, we found little to complain about the notebook. Our biggest gripes were the relatively weak multi-core performance, average audio performance, and the dispersal of connections primarily on the left side of the machine. These are, arguably, quite minor complaints when we consider an average user who just wants a laptop for daily use.
In other words, from build quality, display, inputs, and ports to battery life, the Acer Swift 16 AI Evo will impress.
Looking at some numbers from our review, the 16-inch 2.8K OLED panel gets more than 400 nits of brightness, almost complete sRGB/DCI-P3/AdobeRGB coverage, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The display is also touch-capable and produces accurate colors out of the box.
The Core Ultra 7 256V inside the machine, while not the best, is plenty capable with strong single-core performance. Our testing of the Core Ultra 9 288V-based Swift 16 AI confirms that the laptop offers fast system performance. Since the Core Ultra 7 256V offers practically the same specs, during routine use, you shouldn’t see any slowdowns.
