Popular robotic vacuum cleaner maker Dreame has been venturing with other home electronics like TV sets, power banks, air purifiers, and the like. It is following Xiaomi's footsteps and, just like Xiaomi, it is now ready to announce its first electric car at the CES 2026 expo in January.
Unlike Xiaomi, however, Dreame is the maker of the world's fastest electric motors, which power its expensive cleaners like the pricey X50 Ultra robotic vacuum that is currently discounted by 40% on Amazon. The unit has been certified by Frost & Sullivan as the "world's 1st 200,000RPM high-speed digital motor," and Dreame will leverage its R&D in the field with its upcoming performance EV.
Teased for an announcement at the CES 2026 expo in January, the electric sports car will have 1,000+ HP of combined output and 0-60 mph acceleration in under two seconds. Dreame already claimed that this will be the world's fastest luxury car when it launches, so the interior and comfort features are expected to be on the level, too.
It would be interesting to see how Dreame managed to transfer its record setting vacuum motor know-how to the electric car realm, as the revolutions per minute specs are only part of the criteria there. BYD recently bragged with its new EV platform that allows charging with 1MW speeds and runs on very fast electric motors capable of 32,000 rpm. Those specs have allowed it to break the world's fastest production car record, so Dreame will have a high mark to hit.
Its ultrafast electric motors and drivetrain are reportedly being cooled by refrigerant to operate at temperatures that do not exceed 15 degrees Celsius, which should help with their performance further. It's pretty amazing that consumer electronics companies like Xiaomi or Dreame are able to venture in the car industry and achieve success in just a year or two on the market, but an electric motor is an electric motor, after all.
