Ultimate Ears UE Fits TWS earbuds promise users the perfect fit using unique Lightform technology
If there is one constant gripe about true wireless earbuds it is that fitting them can be a little fiddly. Even when located in the ear just as you’d like, they can still require routine readjustment that is the result of movement, or the tips slipping out. Ultimate Ears claims to have the solution to this problem with its just launched UE Fits TWS earbuds.
The new UE Fits uses a patented technology Ultimate Ears calls Lightform that molds to a user’s individual ear shape. The technology works when the earbuds connect with the companion app to trigger embedded purple LEDs. The light causes the special gel-filled tips to harden into the various contours of the user’s ear for a customized fit in under 60 seconds. Ultimate Ears says the result is a comfortable fit that is free of pressure, pain or irritation.
Sonically, the UE Fits incorporate premium 10 mm drivers for a "warm and detailed sound" and deliver up to eight hours of listening off a charge. The carry case offers up an additional 12 hours of playback for 20 hours of playback in total. Further, a 10 minute quick charge delivers 60 minutes of playback. The earbuds also include built-in touch controls to activate a voice assistant (Siri or Google Assistant) or skip tracks, pause them or adjust the volume. Codecs supported include SBC, AAC and aptX.
The UE Fits come in three colors, gray, lilac and navy and are available for pre-order now. Early birds can pick them up for an introductory price of US$199 after which they will revert to a price of US$250. Orders are expected to ship late this fall.
