Ugreen's FineTrack 2 mini hands-on: A tracker for FIFA fans

The FIFA World Cup is upon us, and Ugreen has a tracker built specifically for football fans. The FineTrack 2 is a soccerball-shaped tracker that leverages Apple's Find My network and has an advertised 110 dB alarm.
I've used the FineTrack 2 for the past several weeks and have been fairly impressed with the device. It pairs easily with an iPhone (just like other Find My trackers do) and sends its location fairly accurately. It doesn't have a UWB-compatible chip, so location is generalized. However, it does have a reasonably loud alarm that can be pinged via Apple's Find My system.
This alarm isn't as loud as Ugreen advertises, unfortunately. It's quite loud when it's close by, but at 20 feet (~6 meters), the volume hits 70-75 dB. At 60 feet (~9-10 m), the sound level registers at about 60 dB. It can still be heard quite clearly, though; the device pings a musical tune that hits piercingly high notes (equivalent to G#6, A#7, and B7 on a piano). As such, it's able to cut through a fairly noisy room. I can still hear it chime across the room even when my children are playing, my dog is barking, and a robot vacuum is running. It may get drowned out in a raucous stadium, though.
The FineTrack 2 has a whimsical design, mirroring a soccerball (or football, for non-US readers). There's a single clicky button on one of the surfaces that is used to activate the device, make it chirp, and can be used for pairing. It boasts an IP68 rating for water- and dust-resistance, so it should be able to withstand whatever FIFA fans throw at it. It also has two green LED lights, though these are on the duller side. Still, they are visible in the dark.
The main downside of the design - it's not very compact. Since it's a sphere, it is difficult to fit into items like a wallet or pocket. I've kept mine attached to my backpack via the included lanyard, and it hasn't fallen off yet.
Overall, the FineTrack 2 is a good tracking device with a fun shape that has an alarm piercing enough to be heard in all but the most crowded environments. With a 7-year batterty life and a price tag of $20 ($15 on Amazon currently), it's a fun way to keep track of a bag during the World Cup.
