It's not often that we see a laptop from an established brand at a price point as low as the £350 that will get you Toshiba's 15.4in Satellite L300-29T. In fact, this makes it the cheapest laptop we've ever reviewed, so let's find out if it's an absolute bargain or has had a few too many corners cut. Despite its decent chassis, excellent speakers and above-average screen, Toshiba's Satellite L300-29T can barely handle <st1:place w:st="on">Vista</st1:place> because of its 1GB of RAM, making it a poor choice unless you're prepared to upgrade the RAM yourself.

The Toshiba Satellite L300-13R is a decent laptop with solid specs and so-so build quality. However, at virtually the same price as the Acer Aspire 5920 Gemstone, the Satellite L300-13R's performance and feature set simply can't compete. For almost the same price, you'd be a fool not to buy the Acer over the the Toshiba Satellite L300-13R.

Toshiba Satellite L300 doesn’t bring anything new, everything is more or less already seen before. Certified components are well fit into, according to price range. The biggest advantage of L300 series in relation to L40 is two years warranty that is now standard for all Toshiba Satellite notebooks. Prolonged warranty and good name that follows Toshiba notebooks will for certain bring prevail in your decision for purchasing it. Notebook Toshiba Satellite L300-11G will serve quite properly users with standard Internet/music/movie demands. On the market can be found several models of L300 series (11F, 11M, 110, 15W) and they all have in common quality made and they differ by processor, memory size, HDD size and OS. This should help you to choose model that will perfectly suit to your needs.

The L300's weight and short battery life mean it's not suitable for road warriors. But if you're looking for a basic, no-nonsense laptop for use around the home then its sub-£400 price tag and sturdy build quality make it an attractive option.

The Toshiba Satellite L300 won't suit everyone, as its base specification isn't powerful enough for anything but the most basic of tasks. However, if you just need something for surfing the web or responding to email, this is a great machine at a bargain price.

Toshiba: Toshiba Corporation is a Japanese conglomerate or technology group. The company was established in 1939 and in 1978 Toshiba became the official company name. The company's products and services include power, industrial and social infrastructure systems, elevators and escalators, electronic components, semiconductors, hard drives, printers, batteries, lighting, logistics and information technology. Toshiba was one of the largest manufacturers of personal computers, consumer electronics, home appliances and medical equipment.

These graphics cards are not suited for Windows 3D games. Office and Internet surfing however is possible.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) X3100: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) X3100 is an integrated (onboard) graphic chip on a Mobile Intel 965GM chipset. It is the successor of GMA 950 and features a fully programmable pipeline (supports Aero Glass fully and DirectX 10 with newest drivers). The peformance of the X3100 is clearly better than the GMA 950, still demanding modern games won't run fluently.

Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500M: The graphics core of the Intel GL40 and GS40 chipset features a slower clocked GMA 4500MHD (400 versus 533 MHz). Because of the slower core speed, full Blu-Ray Logo support is not given and the gaming performance is a bit worse.

Intel Celeron M: It is a Pentium M with halved level 2 Cache and limited on FSB 400. The characteristic of this processor is the speed, which is hardly slower than an equivalent Pentium M. However it can change the speed not dynamically like the Pentium M and therefore needs without load more current.
It is also available as Low Voltage Version with very small current consumption.

Intel Pentium Dual Core: The return of the name Pentium, though it is a Yonah core. In fact, it is a double Core processor with a very good relation of performance to current consumption.

T4300:

Entry - middle class dual core CPU with 1 MB level 2 cache and no virtualization technology. Compared to the Core 2 Duo line, some power saving mechanism are deactivated.
