Tissot takes its popular PRX in an unusual direction with new $2,075 special edition

Swiss watchmaker Tissot has expanded its popular PRX lineup with a new collaboration featuring NBA star Damian Lillard. Dubbed the PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition, the watch swaps the conventional dial for an exposed mechanical movement. It also comes with an accessory that allows it to be converted into a pocket watch.
The new PRX Skeleton features a 44 mm stainless steel case, making it noticeably larger than the 40 mm PRX. It measures 11.2 mm thick and weighs 95 grams. Other specifications include a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, a transparent caseback bearing Lillard’s signature and water resistance of up to 100 metres.
The watch’s skeletonised dial offers an unobstructed view of its mechanical components, surrounded by burgundy accents inspired by Lillard’s personal style. A small seconds display at the 9 o’clock position incorporates a gold-coloured hand shaped like the basketball star’s signature monogram, complete with two vertical lines reminiscent of a dollar sign. The surrounding ring also features the words “Dame Time”, a reference to Lillard’s signature celebration after making crucial shots.
Unlike the automatic Powermatic 80 movements found in many existing PRX models, the new special edition uses a manually wound mechanical movement. Tissot says it offers a power reserve of up to 52 hours. The hour and minute hands also feature Super-LumiNova for better visibility in low light.
Another noteworthy addition is the assortment of accessories bundled with the watch. Buyers get two interchangeable burgundy straps: one rubber and one leather. The former features a pattern inspired by the makeshift basketball hoops Lillard used in his childhood, fashioned from milk crates.
However, the most interesting one is the pocket-watch conversion kit. It features a dedicated leather holder with a chain, letting the watch case be removed from its strap and carried in a pocket or attached to a bag. The quick-release strap mechanism means the conversion requires no additional tools.
This is Tissot’s second PRX collaboration with Lillard, following an earlier 40 mm gold-coloured model powered by the automatic Powermatic 80 movement. The new version differs substantially in both construction and mechanical design, though its 44 mm dimensions may be too large for buyers with smaller wrists.
The Tissot PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition (reference T137.405.17.371.00) is now listed on the manufacturer’s official website for $2,075 in the United States and ₹2,11,500 in India. It is a special edition, not a numbered, limited-production release.
