Casio launching three more square-shaped digital watches

Three new Casio BGD-565FG watches have been revealed on the brand’s website in Thailand. These latest editions to the range, which launched in 2022, are said to be inspired by the grunge movement of the 90s, with gray tone colorways.
Casio’s new Baby-G watches are referred to as the BGD-565FG-2B, a bright blue variant, the BGD-565FG-2C in a cool gray blue, and the light smoke brown BGD-565FG-5. The model has a resin casing measuring 42.1 x 37.9 x 11.3 mm (~1.7 x 1.5 x 0.4 inches) and comes with a matching resin band.
The square shaped model has a digital display showing the time in a 12- or 24 hour format. Also viewable on the screen are the date, the day of the week and icons linked to the watch’s functions. Its features include a countdown timer, a 1/100th second stopwatch, and an alarm with vibration alerts. The LED backlight ensures that the watch is readable in any lighting, and the calendar is fully automatic. Plus, this model is water resistant to 100 m and has a three year battery life estimate.
In Thailand, the Casio BGD-565FG-2B, BGD-565FG-2C and BGD-565FG-5 watches will retail for ฿3,700 (~$110) each. It remains to be seen whether or when these new colorways could reach markets like North America, where older watches like the BGD565-7 are sold (curr. $109 on Amazon Marketplace).
