Tinder, the popular online dating app, has announced a new feature, "Share My Date,” which would allow users to share the details of the date with users who don’t use Tinder.
Much like the name suggests, users will soon be able to share important information about their dates with their family and friends. The feature generates a link containing the date, time, location, and match's name. Users can even add personalized notes for recipients.
Non-Tinder users only see basic match information like photos, name, and age. Tinder users can view the full profile, but cannot message the match directly. These links expire after a set time, which maintains the privacy of the Tinder user and avoids social media oversharing.
As reported by TechCrunch, Tinder CMO Melissa Hobley stated that the new Share My Date feature aims to deliver a fun, safe, and respectful experience for everyone. The new feature will make it easy to share basic information so users can focus on other aspects of the date.
The Share My Date feature will be released in the US, the UK, Australia, India, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Brazil, Singapore, Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Mexico, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam in the next few months.
