Deal | This $400 Gateway laptop sale comes with a 10th gen Intel Core i5 CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and a 1080p IPS display
A grand is the sweet spot for a lot of users in the market for a new laptop. However, that doesn't mean there aren't any good deals fetching for half that price. Walmart is currently discounting its in-house Gateway-branded laptop for just $400 down from its initial launch price of $750 USD.
The deal is notable for the respectable specifications and set of features given the low price point as the configuration in question comes with an Ice Lake Core i5-1035G1 CPU, 16 GB of system RAM, 256 GB SSD, and a 15.6-inch 1080p display. It even comes with a USB-C port for compatibility with a lot of newer accessories and external storage drives. In comparison, most other laptops in the $400 range come with slower Celeron or Atom CPUs and just half the RAM or a lower resolution display.
Drawbacks to the laptop include its soldered RAM and weak integrated UHD graphics. Even so, 16 GB should be more than enough memory for the target audience while the integrated GPU is still more than capable of smooth 4K video playback. For $400, it's a well-rounded 15.6-inch laptop with a relatively modern chassis design.
