Gateway introduces two touchscreen models in its LT and NV series of notebooks that offer competitive features and specs at affordable prices. According to the press release issued earlier today these new laptops "are ideal for customers who put a premium on productivity-enhancing technology that still lets them stay within their budget."
First of the two is the cheaper Gateway LT41P Series which starts at $329 and features a 10.1-inch LCD touchscreen with 1,366X768 pixels and weighs only 2.83 pounds. It can be configured with various Intel Celeron processors, 2 GB DDR3 memory, up to 500 GB of hard drive storage and can offer up to 5 hours of battery life.
Starting at $449, the Gateway NV570P Series notebooks feature 3rd generation Intel Core processors, up to 8 GB DDR3 memory and a large 15.6-inch HD widescreen touch display. The models in the NV570P line come with up to 750 GB of hard drive storage and include optical drives with support for M-DISC, "the only data storage solution to withstand rigorous testing by the U.S. Department of Defense."
All the LT41P and NV570P laptops come with 802.11 b/g/n wireless, HD webcams, HDMI, Bluetooth, built-in SD card reader and two USB 2.0 ports. The LT41P is the only one to come loaded with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 Edition, while the NV570P offers a fast USB 3.0 port.
