The pre-order period is over, so the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 gets a new gifts package

Those who buy the new Galaxy Note 9 directly from Samsung will also get a Duo wireless charger and an official cover in the retail package for free. For an additional US$99, the two accessories mentioned above can be accompanied by the IconX earphones — a treat which normally comes for no less than US$200.

No matter how we look at it, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is — to use a kind language — a bit too expensive. However, those looking to get a good deal by ordering directly from Samsung — now that the pre-order period is over — can add accessories worth almost US$300 for an additional US$99, or simply enjoy a charger and protective case for no extra charge.

Samsung has the Galaxy Note 9 listed on its online store for US$999.99 (128 GB storage) and US$1,249.99 (512 GB storage). The freebies included in the package are the Duo wireless charger and one of the official covers available to choose from. By adding US499 to the price of the Galaxy Note 9 model of choice, the customer can also get the IconX earbuds, usually priced at US$200.

At last, those who would like to grab the Galaxy Note 9 from a carrier can get a second Note 9, a Galaxy S9, or a Galaxy S9+ for free with a Galaxy Note 9 purchase (Verizon) or a free Note 9 with a purchase of the 128 GB model (AT&T). Trading in various Samsung, Apple, LG, and Google devices can also bring up to US$300 off when acquiring Samsung's latest Note device.

Even with the deals above, those who want top performance but are not willing to pay top dollar still have a few better choices around — for example, the brand-new (and very low priced for its specs) Poco F1 or the more expensive OnePlus 6. What do you think about these Galaxy Note 9 deals? Let us know in the comments if they're the way to go or a no-go.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
