Deal | The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE's price drop to $475 makes it a true flagship killer
Barely two months after Samsung announced the Galaxy S24 FE, Amazon is offering a mouth-watering deal on the newest member of the Galaxy S24 series that not only makes it worth considering, but earns it the flagship killer badge.
When the Galaxy S24 FE was announced, it had a starting price of $650 for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, a $50 increase compared to the Galaxy S23 FE. With rivals such as the OnePlus 12R (available on Amazon for $499.99) and the Pixel 8a (curr. $499 on Amazon), the Galaxy S24 FE was facing stiff competition.
However, with Amazon knocking off a whopping 27% off its launch price which brings it down to $474.99, albeit for a limited time, the Galaxy S24 FE can now stand up to its rivals. At its new price, buyers are sure getting a lot.
The Galaxy S24 FE has a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. It also has Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the back, an aluminum frame, and an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. It is powered by the Exynos 2400e, which is an under-powered version of the Exynos 2400 inside some variants of the Galaxy S24.
Like its more powerful sibling, the Galaxy S24 Plus, it has triple rear cameras - a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide angle camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. It also has a 10MP front facing camera. In our review, we found the Galaxy S24 FE takes beautiful images and impresses with its color reproduction. It is also capable of recording in 8K unlike the OnePlus 12R and Pixel 8a.
The Galaxy S24 FE has an in-display fingerprint scanner but it isn't an ultrasonic one like that of its siblings. It also has Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.3, a USB 3.2 Type-C port, and support for Samsung DeX. Its 4,700mAh battery is larger than that of the Galaxy S23 FE, but it still charges at 25W with a wired charger and 15W with a wireless charger. It also has support for reverse wireless charging, although buyers have to purchase a charger if they don't already have one.
Samsung ships the Galaxy S24 FE with Android 14 and has promised it will receive 7 OS upgrades and 7 years of security updates. This means it will be updated through to Android 21 and will receive security updates through to 2031.
The Galaxy S24 FE is available to buy at $474.99 on Amazon in Gray and Graphite only. The Mint and Blue colorways cost a bit more at $499.99. Amazon has also discounted the 256GB version and is available to buy at $559.99 (21% off its list price) regardless of the color.
Samsung also has the Galaxy S24 FE discounted on its online store. However, the 128GB version is priced at $499.99 while the 256GB version matches Amazon's $559.99 price tag.
