The Nook tablet gets CyanogenMod 9 Nightly build

CyanogenMod 9 arrives with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Nook tablet will also come in CyanogenMod 9 along with the previous version CyanogenMod 7. The Nook is a 7 inch tablet which has a display of 1024 x 600 pixels. It will run on 1GHz TI OMAP4 dual core processor. This feature will enable to run the basics in no time. The operating system of the tablet is Android 2.3 Gingerbread which was designed by Barnes and Noble. While this does not indicate that more enterprising of users were left idle, but will alternative versions of Android including CyanogenMod 7 (Android 2.3 Gingerbread) and CyanogenMod 9 (Android 3.0 Honeycomb) on the tablet for some time now.

So far it is seen that the CyanogenMod 7 for the Nook tablet has come out with a consistent performance. But those who want to try out Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will have to be watchful about the Netflix video playback which is not supported and might also go through a situation where the tablet does not return to life even after switching the power button. The only way will be to reboot the system. This issue is also known as “sleep of death”. Though the CyanogenMod 9 is available but it should have 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage space.
