Tesla recently doubled the payouts in its Refer and Earn program, discounting $2,000 from the price of a Model S, Model X, or the Cybertruck if one takes delivery by year's end.
The payout for the referrer also doubled to $1,000, but the discount for its bestselling Model Y and Model 3 vehicles remained $1,000 when a buyer used their link.
Tesla is now boosting the referral link discount for those who purchase a new Model 3 by 50%, and will shave $1,500 off its price, again only if the owner takes delivery by the end of the quarter.
This is on top of all other APR financing and free Supercharging or FSD trial perks that Tesla is doling out in order to pad its Q4 shipment numbers, aiming for a record quarter of sales in the US.
In addition, the loyalty discount that Tesla gives if a customer gets another of its vehicles like the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X, is also upped from $1,000 to $1,500 for the Model 3 in particular.
Tesla advertises the Model 3 as starting below $30,000, or as a $299/month lease, but this is with all the tax credit, fuel savings, or other discounts, while getting a referral link from someone with a few clicks on X is now worth $500 more, at least for the Model 3.
