Tesla offers $1000 off Model Y and Model 3 for FSD upgrades with free transfer
Tesla is getting more and more creative with its promotional offers, and its latest deal can only be classified into the unorthodox category.
First, shareholders chanted "one more quarter" and Elon Musk budged to extend free FSD transfers until October.
Then came slashing the Model Y financing rate from 3.99% to 1.99% to level with the same deal offered for the Model 3. That same Model 3 now got a tailored free color offer aimed to make the Performance version eligible for tax credit no matter the chosen hue.
There is a caveat, though, the deal is only valid with a purchase of Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) option that essentially lowers its price to $6,000 if, say, the $2,000 Ultra Red color is chosen as the free option.
Tesla is now using its free FSD transfer promo as leverage again, and says it will slash $1,000 off the price of a new EV, as long as an owner with the Enhanced Autopilot feature upgrades it to FSD and takes advantage of the free transfer offer to a new vehicle by September 30th.
Enhanced Autopilot offers a lot of the features that FSD has, such as Auto Lane Change and highway driving from on- to off-ramp, but not the all important Autosteer on city streets and Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control options that are vital for navigating city traffic.
The upgrade from Enhanced Autopilot comes out to $99/month and if the resulting FSD option is then transferred to a new vehicle, Tesla will discount it with $1,000. In addition, Tesla is pushing sales with three months of free Supercharging for those who take delivery by August 15.
