Tesla offers 1.99% Model Y APR financing and free Model 3 Performance colors with FSD purchase

Tesla is shaking up the lazy summer months with the return of a popular financing deal for the Model Y.

Instead of the 0.99% APR interest rate introduced back in May to plump the Q2 delivery numbers, however, the offer is now for 1.99% financing.

Still, those who were on the fence whether to get a Model Y will appreciate the significant decrease in monthly payments compared to the 3.99% rate, as long as they order before August 31 and take delivery by the end of September.

Just in time to bump those Q3 shipments, as the Model Y is gradually retreating from its status of the world's most popular passenger vehicle earned globally last year.

The other new deal that Tesla offers is for the Model 3 Performance, of all versions. Those who pick the powerful compact sedan will be able to paint it in any color, including the gorgeous red hue, for free if they  also purchase the FSD feature.

Not only does this essentially cut the price of the Full Self-Driving (Supervised) option to $6,000, as the Ultra Red costs two grand, but it also wiggles the whole package under the federal tax credit threshold.

Previously, when a Model 3 Performance buyer got a paid color option, they went over the federal limit and didn't get the $7,500 credit.

The FSD upgrade wouldn't count, though, so even the Ultra Red Model 3 Performance can now be had with tax credit by those interested. Tesla also extended the free FSD transfer offer by another quarter, and it can now be brought to a new vehicle by the end of September, too.
