Tesla now sells inventory Cybertrucks
Tesla has a bunch of Cybertrucks in its inventory list for the first time, marking what seems a premature end to the two-million-strong reservations list of yesteryear that at one point was valued more than BMW.
Not only can anyone who wants a Cybertruck get one below $80,000, and done for them within a week or so, but those who don't have that kind of patience can grab one off the inventory lot in select locations immediately.
Given that the Cybertruck inventory list only includes the Foundation Series AWD and tri-motor Cyberbeast versions, these may be orders people have bailed on, or simply excess inventory Tesla needs to clear as people can now order the cheaper models.
Those, however, don't have all the trimmings of the Foundation Series edition that sells for $100,000 and comes with Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) option that is $8,000 in itself, as well as other interior and interior appointments that cumulatively are worth more.
Still, while the Cybertuck is proving surprisingly popular as far as electric pickups go, and is now the third bestselling electric vehicle in the US, the rather abrupt end of the list with millions of preorder reservations doesn't bode well for that market niche as a whole.
In any case, if someone wants to grab a Foundation Series Cybertruck without being, well, a founder in the early reservations list, they can buy one directly from Tesla's inventory list now.
