Deal | SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless mechanical keyboard with per-key RGB is 28% off on Amazon
Originally launched at an eyewatering US$240, the SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless mechanical gaming keyboard is currently discounted by roughly US$68 on Amazon. You can now get the RGB-infused keyboard for US$172. While US$172 is still a lot for keyboards, the SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless is packed to the brim with gamer-centric features.
As the name suggests, the Apex Pro Mini Wireless can connect using a 2.4 GHz wireless dongle that comes in the box as well as Bluetooth 5.0. There is also a USB-C port on offer if you want to use the keyboard in the wired mode.
Moreover, the keyboard follows a 60% layout by omitting the dedicated function row and the number pad to achieve a smaller footprint. The keys on board use OmniPoint 2.0 adjustable mechanical switches that SteelSeries claims deliver 11 times quicker response time and have variable actuation travel that can be set between 0.2 mm and 3.8 mm enabling you to customize the feel of the key presses.
The Apex Pro Mini Wireless also comes with per-key RGB that you can control from SteelSeries’ GG companion software. Per-key RGB makes a significant difference in darker environments where users can light up certain keys and disable the backlight for others.
So how good is the SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless in real-world use? It appears to be excellent, as Windows Central calls the keyboard “practically perfect for fast-paced gaming”. So, if you want a stellar 60% wireless mechanical keyboard, the Apex Pro Mini Wireless may be your best bet, especially at the currently reduced price.
