Deal | Steam adds another wave of new free games, some with strong early player ratings

A handful of new free games have been spotted on Steam. While there aren’t many February 2026 additions, many of the late January releases already have over 50% positive player ratings. Here’s more information about some of them:
- Delivery & Beyond - a fun-filled co-op game that's about making deliveries by any means. It was trending on Steam shortly after launch and currently has an 88% positive rating with over 433 reviews. There's partial controller support as well (Xbox Elite Series 2 Core curr. $109.99 on Amazon).
- Wastelanders - a card-based card battler with hand-drawn pixel art and an immersive narrative. This free game on Steam currently has a 100% positive rating that's from around 20 player reviews.
- Maloomify the Ocean - set in an underwater world, this is a relaxing puzzle game that comes with its own level creation feature. It now holds a 72% positive player rating.
- Abyss Manager Idle - a short idle tower defense game that can be finished within 2 hours. It currently holds the "Positive" overall rating with around 50 reviews.
- Paperback - a short horror game with multiple endings and puzzles. This freebie currently has a 100% positive rating that's based on 14 reviews.
- ACE: Alice Card Episode - described as an addictive, Balatro-like deck-building game that requires strategic play. This Steam free game sports a 95% positive rating with 20 reviews.
- Channel 4 Midnight - a bite-sized psychological horror game with retro visuals and around 20 minutes of gameplay. It sports an 87% positive rating that's from around 60 reviews.
- Melon Man - a 2D platformer with a focus on precision movements. This free game on Steam has an 87% positive player rating.
- Anesthesia - a third-person horror game that's set in a nightmarish hospital. It currently has a 60% positive rating.
