According to mobile-dad.com, Sony is reportedly working on an Xperia Z6 Lite smartphone with a 5-inch display, mid-range Snapdragon 652 SoC, and a launch window around May of next year for 400 Euros.
Earlier leaks have mentioned additional smartphones in the Xperia Z6 series including the 4-inch Xperia Z6 Mini, 4.6-inch Xperia Z6 Compact, 5.2-inch Xperia Z6, 6.4-inch Xperia Z6 Ultra, and 8-inch Xperia Z6 Plus. There are conflicting sources, however, as a leaked roadmap from T-Mobile fails to mention the Xperia Z6 Mini.
The current Sony flagship is the Xperia Z5, which is an underrated smartphone based on our time with the unit. Nonetheless, it and the Xperia Z4 unfortunately suffers from CPU and GPU throttling and subsequently received criticism from the press.
Sony recently announced that it would be streamlining its smartphone offerings, so it remains to be seen if these six separate Xperia Z6 models are the manufacturer's answer for bringing its mobile division back in the black.
