The Xperia Z5 Compact was revealed just last month at IFA and is now available for 550 Euros through online merchants. The Z5 Compact is the direct successor to the Z3 Compact since the Z4 Compact never came to light despite rumors suggesting otherwise early June.
The Z5 Compact carries the following specifications:
- 4.6-inch display
- 1280 x 720 resolution
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC
- 2 GB RAM
- 23 MP rear camera + 5 MP front camera
- MicroSD slot
- 2700 mAh battery
The same Snapdragon SoC can also be found in the HTC One M9 flagship, so this will be quite the powerful smartphone despite its sub-FHD display. Initial tests show that the Z5 Compact carries an excellent camera as expected from Sony with very speedy overall performance. The plastic casing, however, sharply separates the Z5 Compact from larger and higher-end flagship models. Furthermore, call quality suffers from slight static.
