The Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact may both make appearances in the coming weeks. Existing leaks alongside the SmartBand 2 SWR12 have already shown the smartphones with fingerprint scanners.
Current rumors suggest that Sony will be sticking with the "Omni-Balance" design for the new Z5 series. Expected changes include relocated buttons (Power, Volume rocker) to better accommodate the introduction of the fingerprint scanner.
The Z5 and Z5 Compact will likely not have USB Type-C ports. Sony announced in June that the company will not include the reversible USB port in its mobile product line for now. Possible specifications for the Z5 Compact are a 4.7-inch 720p display, mainstream Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, and 3 GB RAM for a launch this September.
