The alleged launch date in September aligns with IFA 2015 trade show in Berlin, which on numerous occasions has already been Sony’s stage for launching new products.

New report suggests that Sony might be getting ready to launch a new flagship smartphone just several months after releasing the Xperia Z3+ (a.k.a. Xperia Z4 in Japan). If the rumors turn out to be true, we will see the brand new Xperia Z5 as soon as September.

The Xperia Z3+ has not been the most successful release ever, with numerous users claiming that their phones overheat way too easily. Sony puts the blame (probably rightfully so) on Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC that has been used in the Z3+. At the same time, the Japanese decided to launch a new model that they hope will stop the bad PR Sony has been getting.

The alleged launch date in September aligns with IFA 2015 trade show in Berlin, which on numerous occasions has already been Sony’s stage for launching new products.

As for rumored Xperia Z5 specs, it’s supposed to come with the yet unreleased Snapdragon 820 processor. The Z5 might be the first device to feature the new Qualcomm’s SoC. And Sony has debuted some Qualcomm chips before.
