HTC Aero to be HTC's new flagship
HTC One M9 has not exactly been a huge sales hit, which is not surprising when we consider the fact that it had not undergo too many revolutionary changes when compared to One M8. That’s why the Taiwanese smarphone maker is busy preparing a new flagship handset for October this year.
Interestingly, if the reports turn out to be true, the new flagship will not belong to the One family. It’s called HTC Aero and is a brand new device, designed from scratch.
There’s not much information about the Aero available so far. We do know, however, that it will most likely be outfitted with a QHD (2560x1400 pixels) display covered with Gorilla Glass 4 with 2.5D curvature. It will also allegedly feature a high-end camera with f/1.9 lens and RAW support.
The HTC Aero will face a really tough competition when it enters the market. iPhone 6s should already be available by then, as well as the next generation of Galaxy Note from Samsung. Sony is also reportedly planning to launch the Xperia Z5 in September. The new HTC flagship will have to combine great specs with reasonable pricing and awesome marketing (something they have been missing thus far) if they want to have a good chance against the mentioned models.
