The HTC One E9 is aiming to be a solid smartphone in the mid-range segment. It has a 5.5-inch 720p display (although the translated source claims 1080p), 8-core MediaTek SoC, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB eMMC, and MicroSD support up to 128 GB. Its main rear camera carries a 13 MP sensor that works alongside HTC's UltraPixel technology for better low-light performance as found on the original One M8. The model will likely ship with the latest Android version available at time of writing (5.1 Lollipop).
Additional features include LTE compatibility and dual SIM slots, which is an uncommon combination for an international smartphone. This could potentially boost sales as it may appeal to more European users, but a launch is currently planned for Taiwan and China only.
The One E9 is the cheaper variant of the One E9+, which had launched earlier in May in India. Even this current non-plus model is not widely available in Germany, and the launch price of the new One E9 is currently unknown.
