OnePlus has made it official before the curtains are pulled: The OnePlus 2 will have 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

The Chinese manufacturer has dropped one last hint about the upcoming OnePlus 2 before the official reveal on July 27. Not only will the flagship smartphone carry 4 GB RAM, but it will be of the LPDDR4 variety. This new generation of DRAM promises approximately twice the throughput compared to LPDDR3 while consuming less power.

4 GB RAM will also outclass the latest smartphones from manufacturers such as Samsung. The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have "only" 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM each, while the LG G4 uses 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM. Apple's own iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have just 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM each.

Combined with the powerful 64-bit Snapdragon 810 APU, Adreno 430 graphics, USB Type-C port, and fingerprint sensor for less than $450, the OnePlus 2 is looking like a very interesting package. The OnePlus One predecessor offered excellent value for the money at launch while carrying specifications that rivaled flagships.
