The U in U505 stands for “Ultimate”, and this machine lives up to that moniker in many categories: it’s got barnstorming graphics, a powerful processor, more versatility than we’ve seen from any other gaming notebook and ergonomics that compete with the best gaming portables. Despite all of those attributes, its appeal is limited by its chunky design, poor battery life and stratospheric price, all of which mean it’s likely to remain in its own luxurious niche.

Model: The up and coming German company Schenker Technologies is not a name many have heard of before. The company itself is relatively small with only about 60 employees and they are experts in the business of customizing high-end laptops to fit the demands of individual customers. Every single product from Schenker Technologies is hand assembled in their workshop in Leipzig, Germany. To date, they mainly sell their laptops online and the XMG brand is their specific line of gaming laptops.
The XMG U505 is part of the Ultra gaming laptop series. This 15.6” screen laptop weighs 3.4 kg and features an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M high end graphic card that is able to accommodate demanding high res games in full detail. The processor in this laptop is an Intel Core i7 adapted from a model developed for desktops. The 15.6 inch screen has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. There is also an 8 GB RAM which can be increased up to 32 GB with the newly developed Intel Z97 chipset and a storage capacity of up to 5 TB of ultra-fast data. All these features guarantee ultra-efficiency and ultra-speed for users looking for a powerful long lasting gaming laptop that is made to order.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M:
Fast high-end graphics card based on the Maxwell GM204 chip from the GeForce GTX 900M series.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

15.60":
15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.3.4 kg:
A laptop with this weight is comparatively heavy and less designed for mobility than for use at the desk. Therefore, the devices tend to shine less with battery life than with a large screen and higher performance.
80%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
