A recently uploaded YouTube video by OnePlus suggests that a stone-textured handset is on its way, although we will probably have an official confirmation at CES 2018, if not sooner.

OnePlus is preparing to launch something interesting, and given the reaction of those who appear in the "What's in the Box?" video that the Chinese company has recently uploaded to its YouTube channel, we can bet (just a few cents, we must admit) that a handset or an accessory that uses a sandstone texture similar to the material used for the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 is on its way.

The video mentioned above (that is also embedded at the end of this article) was shot in London and shows different people who have been asked to feel a mystery product placed inside a covered white box. The box has the OnePlus logo in plain sight, but there's no other detail to talk about. However, the reactions of those who touched the object inside it go from "smooth" or "quite grippy" all the way to "It might be the OnePlus One Sandstone."

While a textured power bank could be in the box, we do not think that OnePlus would bother to tease it in this manner. Since the OnePlus 5T Star Wars features a sandstone texture on the back, we might soon see a new color/texture option for the standard 5T flagship. We wouldn't bet on the global availability of the Star Wars limited edition, but there is no doubt that many Star Wars fans all over the world would love this handset.

Since January always brings a bunch of new products thanks to the CES trade show, we are expecting to see the sandstone-textured OnePlus handset (or accessory) finally out of the white box by the end of next month. After all, this is exactly what OnePlus promised.
