Typically, Samsung brings interim versions of One UI to current and recent flagships, as was the case with One UI 2.5. However, One UI has only jumped to version 3.1.1 for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, rather than the expected One UI 3.5. As its name suggests, One UI 3.1.1 is a marginal bump on One UI 3.1, itself a slight revision of One UI 3.
In a community post, Samsung confirmed that it will release One UI 3.1.1 to other flagships in all but name. Unfortunately, many outlets ran with headlines centring on the idea that past and current devices will not receive One UI 3.1.1. In truth, Samsung has promised to deliver the benefits of One UI 3.1.1 to devices already on One UI 3.1. These will arrive in a software update, although not one tied to the removal of advertisements.
Apparently, the Galaxy S20 series will receive the update starting this week, with the Galaxy S21 series following from August 25. Samsung will then update other flagship series, such as the Galaxy Note 20, after that - probably sometime in September.
Please note that these update schedules only apply in South Korea. We imagine that Samsung may take a few more weeks to bring One UI 3.1.1 features to One UI 3.1 devices globally, albeit likely in the same rollout order. In short, One UI 3.1.1 is arriving on older and current devices, but with no revision change.
Hello, customer. I am a Samsung Electronics mobile phone manager. Thank you for using our Samsung Electronics products. Thank you for your patience. As a result of checking with the relevant department about the version of OneUI 3.1.1 you inquired about, 3.1.1 is the only version for the foldable model, and additionally improved apps and functions in that version will be provided in the form of software updates to the existing 3.1 version for some flagship models (3.1 There is no version change to .1.).
For the flagship application, the update will be provided on the 8/17th for the S20 first, and the S21 (planned for 8/25), N20, etc. will be updated sequentially thereafter. It will be expanded to some flagship models. (OneUI version remains the same as before, 3.1) I hope the answer is helpful, and I sincerely wish you health and happiness. thank you
