Samsung sends out invitations for possible S5 unveiling
Samsung is building up hype for an "Unpacked 5" event where the Galaxy S5 will likely be revealed.

Samsung is getting ready for the Mobile World Congress later this month in Barcelona, and they're starting things off by sending out invitations to an "Unpacked 5" event. Slated for February 24th on the first day of MWC, the event is expected to introduce the company's latest flagship device- the Galaxy S5.

The event's official name is the Samsung Unpacked 2014 Episode 1, but the numeral 5 in the invitation is a dead giveaway for Samsung's latest smartphone. Rumors about the device have been bountiful over the past months, and it is expected to feature a 64-bit Exynos 6 processor, Android KitKat, an iris scanner and should be available in both plastic and metal editions.

In addition to the S5, the company is also expected to announce a new version of their Galaxy Gear smartwatch, one that should play nice with the S5 and maybe even more devices. Unfortunately, not much else is known about the event, but folks who can't make it to Barcelona can tag along with a live stream slated for February 24th at 2PM EST on Samsung's YouTube channel.
