Samsung launches the SM-G9198 clamshell phone
Samsung has officially released its new clamshell phone, the SM-G9198, in South Korea and China. The handset comes with quite good specifications for this type of phone, making it the most powerful clamshell handset in the world, according to Samsung.
The SM-G9198 features two 3,9-inch Super AMOLED displays with 1280x768 pixels resolution and Gorilla Glass 4 on top – one on each side of the flap. Both screen are touch-enabled and when the phone is closed, it can be operated just like a regular smartphone.
Under the hood, sits a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with Adreno 418 graphics, accompanied by 2 GB of RAM. The 16 GB of on-board storage (with includes space for the OS and applications) can be expanded by another 128 GB via micro-SD card reader slot. The removable battery’s capacity is 2020 mAh.
Samsung SM-G9198 main camera uses a 16 MP sensor, an f/1.9 lens and a LED flash, while the front shooter allows taking 5 MP selfies. Connectivity options include: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, 4G/LTE and GPS. The handset runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and weighs 204 grams.
Samsung has not unveiled the SM-G9198 pricing, but taking its specs into consideration, we do not expect it to be too cheap.
