Several years ago, Samsung was among the few vendors to offer large, 12-inch Windows tablets from the Slate PC line-up. However, like other Windows tablets they have not been very succesfull, and thus there was no follow-up from Samsung.
According to a new report, the Korean giant is will to try its luck with a Windows tablet again. This time too, they are allegedly working on a 12-inch slate that would presumably be a worthy competitor to Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4, expected to launch this fall.
The new Samsung’s tablet will allegedly be powered by a 14nm Intel Core M processor accompanied by 4 gigabytes of RAM. The screen’s resolution is still a bit of a guess, but the report suggests it might be either 2560 x 1600 or a whopping 3840 x 2400 pixels. The tablet is also supposed to come with an S Pen and, consequently, with a whole lot of stylus-related capacilities. The device will allegedly be 6.2 mm thin and weigh 600 grams.
Unfortunately, there is no information regarding a possible launch date, but if Samsung is indeed planning to make it a competition for the Surface 4 Pro, then it should probably launch this fall as well.
