Samsung introduces the ATIV Tab 3 Tablet

Teaser
The new Tablet will run Windows 8 and will include an S-pen

With Samsung unveiling new cameras, smartphones, ultrabooks, and even a convertible, it would have come as a surprise if the Korean company's 'Premiere' had come and gone without a new Tablet being shown off.

Those who attended Samsung's event in London (as well as those who watched the live feed on youtube) were among the first to see the ATIV Tab 3 Windows 8 Tablet. Samsung showed off the device and its included S-pen but didn't give out a lot of information about hardware and internals beyond thickness (0.32 inches), weight (1.2 pounds), and battery life (8.5 hours). The new tablet will also be one of the first to benefit from Microsoft's new policy of offering Office 2013 for free on 10-inch and under Windows 8 tablets and convertibles.

The Tab 3 is rumored to run on an Intel Atom (Clover Trail) Z2760 1.8 GHz processor, and have 2 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal memory, a 10.1-inch 1366 x 768 display. Based on these components, its unlikely this new device will offer significantly better performance than any of the other Windows 8 Tablets on the market.

Price and availability for the new tablet have not yet been announced.
