Samsung has a colourful surprise in store for fans of affordable flagship smartphones
OnLeaks may have recently published CAD renders of the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, but Evan Blass has gone one better. The renowned leaker had already leaked a marketing render of the device, which is also referred to as the Galaxy S20 FE, but now he has uploaded multiple marketing renders on his Patreon page.
The new set of renders show the design of the S20 Fan Edition from practically every angle, bar its top and bottom edges. Contrary to the renders published by OnLeaks, those that Blass has provided confirm that Samsung has brought the pronounced camera housing from the Note 20 series to the S20 Fan Edition. The renders also show the device in six colours, which should give it a broad appeal to consumers. All appear to have a matte finish, which Samsung has paired with a glossy colour-matching frame.
Samsung is expected to unveil the S20 Fan Edition in October. Like other recent flagship Samsung smartphones, the Fan Edition is believed to be sold in Europe with the Exynos 990 and the Snapdragon 865 in other regions like the US. In terms of pricing, The Elec has reported that Samsung may launch the Fan Edition for KRW 900,000 in South Korea, which would make it just over 38% cheaper than the KRW 1,250,000 that the company originally charged for the Galaxy S20. If that price difference extends to other markets, then the S20 Fan Edition could launch for less than US$750.
