Samsung details new LED View Covers for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge not only have the best displays and cameras in their class, but will also carry a number of practical accessories as well. In addition to an inductive charger with rapid charging and external battery packs in 10200 and 5100 mAh sizes, Samsung is now offering numerous View Covers for its two new flagships.

LED View Covers

One innovation from the latest S class of smartphones is the LED View Cover cases. Color options include Gold, Silver, and Black and each carry an integrated LED display for notifying the user of any messages, alarms, incoming or missed calls, and other status indicators without needing to turn on the phone display. The cover can also be used to quickly answer phone calls, deactivate alarms, and set assignable icons to know who may be currently calling or messaging.

Other than the LED View Covers, more traditional covers are available in leather or plastic to better protect the smartphone. The Clear View cover in particular covers the display as well as the chassis while still allowing for normal operation. The Flip Wallet provides pockets for cards and cash while the clip-on Keyboard Cover provides a physical keyboard over a portion of the screen. The Lens Cover turns the rear camera into a wide-angle lens, though this accessory is not yet available in all regions. Finally, the S View Cover switches off the display to save energy while still providing controls for music playback, camera controls, and accepting or rejecting calls.
