Back in December, SamMobile confirmed that Samsung was working on a Gear Manager app for Apple's iOS. The app that would allow iPhone users to connect the Gear S2 smartwatch with it was confirmed by Samsung in January, at CES 2016. Unfortunately, they were not too fast to launch it, but now it looks like Gear S2 will get iOS support soon.
SamMobile writes that "The Gear S2 is reportedly going to receive an update by the end of March which is going to bring iOS support to the smartwatch and that’s also when the Gear Manager for iOS will be released." What remains to be seen is how many features will be lost in the process, since Samsung Pay requires a Samsung handset to work.
Since the previous reports that claimed the update would come in January proved to be wrong, we can only hope that Gear S2 gets support for iOS devices as soon as possible. How soon is that, remains to be seen.
