Two years after releasing its first activity tracker, Samsung has its successor ready to launch, as well as a set of cordless earbuds.

Samsung launched the Gear Fit activity tracker more than two years ago, and now its successor is already prepared to hit the market. This time, it looks like the new Gear Fit will come with a companion as well, namely a set of cordless Bluetooth earbuds dubbed Gear IconX.

According to VentureBeat, who published a set of images that shows these two upcoming gadgets, the Gear Fit 2 has a 1.84-inch curved AMOLED display and features a greater curve than its predecessor, also offering built-in GPS support. The IconX earbuds seem to be completely wireless, as they have no cords to connect to another device and not even a cord that connects them one to another.

The same source reveals that the IconX earbuds can be controlled by touching them, as they have no buttons. However, they are said to pack 4 GB internal storage space. Unfortunately, there is no information about the pricing and launch date of the Gear Fit 2 and IconX, but we will get back to them as soon as we find out more.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
