Samsung Galaxy View might not have been a major hit worldwide, but it looks like this 18.4-inch Android tablet was popular enough stateside to get a successor. Back in January — a few months after receiving its Bluetooth and WiFi certifications — the Galaxy View 2 was spotted on Geekbench with an Exynos 7885 processor and 3 GB of memory.
As the first images of the device show, the most obvious visual change is the hinged kickstand that sits at 30 degrees when the Galaxy View 2 is stowed and upright when opened. On the other side, the fact that the diagonal of the screen has been reduced by 1.1 inches (compared to the original Galaxy View, of course) should also be taken into account when considering a purchase, although some might miss this detail at first sight.
One more detail that needs to be mentioned is that Samsung has decided to remove the integrated handle. The new kickstand has a hole in the rear which can be used to grip the Galaxy View 2 for transportation and the whole unit is probably lighter than its predecessor as well.
These being said, Samsung fans in the United States should get ready for the arrival of the Galaxy View 2. There is no official launch date to talk about yet, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see this large slate in AT&T's portfolio by the end of the month.
