Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus to showcase the 50 MP ISOCELL GN5 camera as camera configurations leak
@UniverseIce has revealed plenty of details about the Galaxy S22 series so far, including the Galaxy S22 Ultra's camera configuration. Now, the renowned leaker has published the camera configurations of the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus on Twitter. For context, leaked CAD renders had already confirmed that the pair would feature three rear-facing cameras.
According to @UniverseIce, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus will have the same cameras. In that regard, the pair mirror their predecessors, which relied on 12 MP primary cameras, 12 MP ultra-wides and 64 MP telephoto cameras. The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus also have identical front-facing cameras, a 10 MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 1/3.24-inch optical format.
Seemingly, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus will feature the same 10 MP front-facing camera as their predecessors, which has a 1.22 µm pixel size. The 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera from this year's Galaxy S21 series will return too, with its 1/2.55-inch optical format, 1.4 µm pixel size and f/2.2 aperture.
However, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus could be the first devices to debut the ISOCELL GN5, a 50 MP camera that has a 1/1.57-inch optical format and 1.0 µm-wide pixels. A 10 MP telephoto camera will join the ISOCELL GN5, which should offer 3x optical zoom, an f/2.4 aperture and 1.0 µm-wide pixels as well.
