Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra faces JerryRigEverything's torture session, handles it pretty well
Those who are considering the purchase of the new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra should check JerryRigEverything's new video that involves the YouTuber's usual torture tests and proves that the US$1,200 flagship device is rugged enough for most daily hazards that it will face when used in mundane environments.
Without further ado, these are the highlights of the aforementioned durability testing session:
- Samsung applied two screen protectors over the screen, which isn't such a leap forward in durability over last year's flagships. The new display is stuck at the usual "with deeper grooves at a level 7" stage when facing Mohs picks.
- On the bright side, the display can handle the lighter's flame for roughly 45 seconds, although the mark left doesn't fade away after pulling away from the heat source.
- The back cover is quite resilient when facing scratches, but this is not the case with the metal plate around the cameras.
- The flagship also passed the bend test with flying colors.
On the other hand, Jerry was honest enough to highlight that most users would get much better value by purchasing a previous generation flagship that also features a microSD slot and a 3.5 mm audio jack instead of spending no less than US$1,200 for the brand-new Galaxy S21 Ultra.
