Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Ring will be available in sizes 14 and 15 starting January 22nd, which will make the smart ring suitable for users with thicker fingers. A free sizing kit is supposed to help customers determine their perfect fit before purchasing the Samsung Galaxy Ring. Furthermore, Samsung is introducing numerous new features that require an update of both the Galaxy Ring firmware and the Samsung Health app for Android smartphones.
For instance, the app now provides a sleep environment report that analyzes certain data points such as temperature, humidity, air quality, and light intensity in the bedroom. These additional information can help users to improve their sleep, and the app offers specific advice on how to create a better sleep environment. However, users need a SmartThings-compatible sensor that can measure the according metrics.
The so-called sleep coaching feature recommends a bedtime and wake-up time that is optimized based on individual habits, sleep patterns and environmental factors. On the other hand, the mindfulness tracker monitors mood, breathing, and stress levels based on data collected by the Samsung Galaxy Ring throughout the day. Meanwhile, the Samsung Health app offers breathing exercises and a meditation feature that can improve the mental wellbeing of users.
Price and availability
The Samsung Galaxy Ring can be ordered in two new sizes starting January 22nd. The smart ring is available in black, silver and gold and is currently priced at $399 at Samsung’s official online store.
