Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G
Price-wise, the Galaxy A25 is situated in the mid-range category, and, offering 4 big Android updates as well as 5 years of security updates, it has more software support than some high-end smartphones. The built-in OIS, the very bright 120 Hz Super AMOLED display and the 3,5 mm audio jack make the Galaxy handset worthy of your attention.

The Samsung Galaxy A25 5G offers just enough power that it can handle most of your phone needs, even if it stops short of being able to impress outside of its comparatively long software support timeline. While many phones that cost $300 and less are fortunate to receive more than one software update and three years of security updates, Samsung's commitment to the cheaper phone market means a perfectly good device doesn't have to be discarded after two to three years. However, when you look away from the software support timeline, it's increasingly difficult to ignore some of the additional features and more modern design influences that are showing up on rival budget phones. This includes the colorful vegan leather look Motorola has brought to its Moto G line.

I don’t think that the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G is a true upgrade over the Samsung Galaxy A24. Instead, it would be better to call this a 5G variant of the Samsung Galaxy A24. The changes are very minimal, yet the price hike is significant. For this reason, I find that the Samsung Galaxy A24 provides better value for money than the Galaxy A25. Since the Galaxy A24 may soon be out of stock, I recommend considering the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G instead. The Galaxy A15 offers similar features to the A24, better gaming performance than the A25, a lower price, includes a charger, and is currently the best phone under Rs. 30,000 in Nepal.

It’s hard to argue that Samsung makes some of the better options when it comes to budget smartphones, so if you’ve got limited funds to work with, we’d definitely recommend checking out the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G. The display alone impresses enough to make it worth the mild investment, and the commitment to so many software updates means you won’t be forced to swap it for a new device for a while, adding even more to the value. If you’re coming over from an older flagship, though, the performance issues are going to bother you. The lag is noticeable, although you shouldn’t have any serious problems when it actually matters. Plus, the limited storage options could be frustrating for a heavy user, though considering you can always increase it with a microSD card, that’s far from a deal-breaker.

The Samsung Galaxy A25 offers a large and bright OLED screen, all-day battery life, good everyday performance, and excellent imaging capabilities for an affordable price. In addition, you won't have to worry about upgrading for several years thanks to Samsung's multi-year software update commitment. As such, the Galaxy A25 handily secures our Editors' Choice award for affordable Android phones. If you're willing to spend more, the $499 Pixel 7a is our Editors' Choice winner for midrange phones thanks to its more durable build, faster hardware, and even better cameras.

Should you buy the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G? In this $300 price class, it offers good value for the money. You get a pretty screen, a substantial upgrade in processor and RAM compared to the cheaper A15 5G, a decent main camera and solid battery life. You can kind of live with this phone. But it's hard to be terribly excited about the Galaxy A25 5G. The design is disappointingly bland and plastic. And while the phone is not terribly slow, it's definitely not fast either. The OnePlus Nord N30, which is much older, still feels zippier than this here Galaxy A25 5G. And for just a bit more, at $350, you can also buy the flashier and more powerful Nothing Phone 2a. But if you want to own a Samsung phone and like the user interface, this is certainly a decent budget phone at a good price.

The Galaxy A25 5G sits right in the middle of Samsung's budget-friendly A series, replacing a Galaxy A24 that never made its way to the United States. It offers a smooth, 6.5-inch AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, an in-house Exynos 1280 chipset, and a triple camera system captained by a 50MP primary sensor. Oh, and it still has a headphone jack!

At just under £250/$300, the Galaxy A25 5G ticks a lot of boxes if you’re looking for a reliable budget smartphone. As well as 5G support, you get an excellent 120Hz AMOLED screen, good all-round performance, some good cameras and (perhaps most importantly) better software support than rivals.

So all in all, in the process of reviewing the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G, I found it to be just about average. Like I said at the beginning, this phone is a slightly better version of the Samsung Galaxy A24 with a better display, 5G connectivity, and a free charger in the box. But, if you are working with a strict budget of around NPR 30,000 then you will not miss out on anything significant by opting for the Samsung Galaxy A24. Even though the Exynos 1280 on the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G is better than the Helio G99 on the A24 on paper, it is severely lacking in terms of optimisation. As a result, you won’t find a significant difference in performance. So, getting the Galaxy A24 and saving 7 to 8 thousand of your hard-earned money makes absolute sense too! On the other hand, if have a bit more flexible budget then going for the Samsung Galaxy A34 which comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor, better camera quality, a more premium design, and an IP67 rating is kind of like a no-brainer.

All of these small updates pile up and arguably place the Galaxy A25 closer than ever to Galaxy A3X territory regarding features. Other than the upgrades, the Galaxy A25 still offers a solid build, now with a slightly tweaked design, which we found to offer a more comfortable grip. Both the battery life and performance are dependable, and the same can mostly be said about the camera setup. Well, at least in daylight. Low-light photography is a bit of a letdown, though still not bad enough to be a dealbreaker. We would have loved to see a proper ingress protection rating on the Galaxy A25 like its bigger brothers get, but perhaps next year. We really don't see anything major in the Galaxy A25 to complain about. It is a solid Samsung device with all that entails for a reasonable price, and we are sure it will enjoy good popularity.

The Galaxy A25 steps up the game with its Super AMOLED display and a smoother 120Hz refresh rate, making it a better choice for those who enjoy vibrant colors and fluid scrolling. The Exynos 1280 processor, coupled with 5G capability, positions it as a more future-proof device, offering better performance in gaming and intensive applications. The dual-speaker setup provides an enhanced audio experience. Camera-wise, the A25 offers noticeable improvements, especially in terms of white balance and saturation. So, in conclusion, the comparison between the Samsung Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A25 is a tale of budget versus features. While the A15 offers affordability and reliable performance, the A25 steps up with enhanced features like a superior processor, better display technology, and 5G capability.

The Galaxy A25’s design may not appeal to all, as it sports a basic, all-plastic build that lacks a premium feel. The absence of an IP rating for water and dust resistance raises questions about its durability in challenging environments. Moreover, the device’s U-shaped notch design is a step behind the current trend of punch-hole or under-display cameras, which might detract from its aesthetic appeal.

The Samsung Galaxy A25 does provide some great value for the money you will pay for. It has 5G connectivity, a flagship-level display, higher brightness, more than a decent chipset, and excellent battery performance. Even the camera is quite good, especially the main camera. Sure there’s no telephoto lens or high-end ultrawide but the superb main camera performance trumps them. Not to mention, it would be impossible to find a smartphone with a telephoto lens at this price in 2023. On top of that, Samsung’s long-term OS support trumps pretty much every other smartphone in this price range and above. No one beats Samsung when it comes to software support in the Android space. Considering all that it offers, the pricing is okay, and vice versa. However, not everyone is a fan of Samsung.

76.67%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
