A new report by HelloMotoHK believes Motorola may decide not to increase the Moto X display's resolution.

HelloMotoHK has just published a report that is supposedly leaked hardware specs for the next Motorola Moto X. Though there are some notable changes, the most interesting detail is the supposed decision to keep the display resolution at 1080p. Despite the industry's recent race to provide smartphone displays with the highest PPI, Motorola may not conform.

The display will, however, be larger according to the report, and will be 5.5 inches. The 2014 Moto X had a 5.2 inch display. The rumor also states that the new flagship will include a 3600 mAh battery, which is fairly large. The 1080p resolution could help to extend the battery life even longer, and it seems that, based on this report at least, the new Moto X is determined to provide long use without needing to charge up. MicroSD support for the smartphone is also rumored, as well as a 21 MP camera sensor for the rear-facing camera, and a 5 MP front-facing camera.

While these reports should always be taken with a grain of salt, truth can sometimes be found within. With a beefier battery and larger display, as well as a better camera, the Moto X may satisfy many who were unhappy with the previous iteration. Though some may be disappointed by the possibly lower resolution, if the battery life is long enough to justify this, it should not be much of an issue.
